Design of Redmi 9 Power

First of all let's talk about the design of this phone. A Plastic body material has been used in the back panel of this smartphone. At the same time, a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 has been given in the front panel. Waterdrop or Dot Notch feature has been given in the phone. IR Blaster and 3.5mm audio jack have been given on the top side of this smartphone. At the same time, speaker grills and USB Type C charging jack feature have been given at the bottom. The integrated fingerprint sensor is seen on the right side of the phone along with the volume rocker at the top and the power button just below it. Triple card slot is given in the left side. The good thing that we liked in this is that Night Mode has been given in its display. If you turn on the Night Mode feature, then its brightness does not sting your eyes while reading or browsing videos at night. Talking about the overall display, you can stream or browse videos up to 1080p in this budget smartphone. If you play games in this smartphone, then a little bit of lagging is seen in its graphics. However, you cannot even expect better graphical performance from a smartphone of this price point.

In such a situation, we must expect strong performance in this budget phone. Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC has been used in the phone. While UFS 2.2 storage support is provided in 128GB variant. Of the internal storage, up to 20GB of storage is used for apps and operating systems. After that you can use the storage. This phone works on MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

If you are not a game lover or gamer and do not use heavy apps, then you will not complain about the performance of this phone in this price range. The phone also works well in multi-tasking. The best thing about it, we liked that after charging its battery once, you can fry it for about 1.5 days. If you do not keep the data on, then it also lasts for two days. Screen flash feature has been given in the front of the phone. You will get to see many types of modes in the phone's camera. Night mode, panorama mode, portrait and pro modes will be available in the phone. One more thing if you want to use 8MP camera then you have to select 48MP mode.  At the same time, talking about the selfie camera of the phone, you also get many modes in it. In this you get portrait and AI modes. In addition, it also supports HDR. The rear camera of Redmi 9 Power works well in daylight. Looking at the price of the phone, we can say that we get vibrant picture quality in it. Close-to-natural quality is available in the picture taken with the camera. At the same time, we did not like it so much in Night Mode. The picture quality is not so good in night mode. The pixels of a picture taken in low light are distorted.

The selfie camera of this Redmi 9 power smartphone is nothing special. It could have been even better. HDR support is provided in the 8MP camera but the picture quality is not so satisfactory. You will also know the difference in video calling. However, if we look at the overall camera at this price, then its camera is not so bad. Its camera is fine for daily social media uploads not for professional photographing.

 

Redmi 9 Power Software and User Interface

Like other Xiaomi devices, this MIUI comes with a customized user interface. The latest MIUI 12 based on Android 10 has been given in Redmi 9 Power. This phone will get all the features of Android 10 such as system wide dark mode, adaptive battery, adaptive display. The user interface of MIUI 12 will look less attractive than the interface of Realme C12 coming in this price range. However, some people like MIUI 12 quite a lot.

 

I personally did not find its interface so much attractive. You will also find some pre-installed apps which you will not be able to delete. If you are already using Xiaomi's smartphones, then you will get to see many upgrades in MIUI 12 compared to the previous series. Most of the improvements will be seen in its icons. Xiaomi will have to make the user interface of its phone near to stock Android like other brands.

 

How did we like Redmi 9 Power?

Talking about the overall experience of the phone, this smartphone with a starting price of Rs 10,999 will prove to be a better deal with these features. From the performance of the phone to the design, you will find it much attractive. However, some more improvements could have been done in the camera. I did not like its user interface so much. However, the phone's build quality and battery back-up are excellent. You can call it a true budget smartphone. Compared to other smartphones of Redmi 9 Series, it gets better battery. If you are looking for a powerful smartphone in the price range of Rs 10,000, then I think you will not regret buying this phone.
